Explanation of Carbon Credits Assessment Cost and Project Processes
Explanation of Carbon Credits Assessment Cost Calculation Methods and WMO (Beijing) CTX Project Processes
WMO (Beijing) CTX provides global services for technical assessment of carbon credits and emission reduction projects, MRV (Monitoring-Reporting-Verification) system development, and international certification coordination. We support project developers across power generation (thermal, waste-to-energy, hydro, wind, etc.), steel, cement, chemicals, forestry, agriculture, transportation, and other sectors and project scenarios to establish auditable, traceable, and tradable high-integrity carbon assets. We hereby provide a detailed explanation of the complete process, fee collection points, and free services associated with our carbon credits assessment services.
Phase 1: Initial Contact, Completely Free
When first engaging with a carbon credits project, WMO (Beijing) CTX will thoroughly understand the project’s requirements and expected outcomes, and will send a “Preliminary Project Survey”. The client will fill in the form with relevant data to help us quickly grasp key project information. This phase is conducted in the spirit of sincere cooperation, and no fees are charged.
Phase 2: Preparation of Project Compliance Documents and On Site Survey, Focus on Practicality
Upon review, if the data provided in the “Preliminary Project Survey” meets the basic requirements, the project evaluation proceeds to the next stage. WMO (Beijing) CTX will sign a preliminary letter of intent with the client, followed by on-site surveys and sampling for the carbon credits project, and will assist the client in completing the necessary compliance documents and contract signings for the project. At this stage, WMO (Beijing) CTX charges only the necessary costs incurred for on-site surveys and sampling.
Phase 3: Installation of the AMS and DOE Certification and Filing, Involves Fixed Costs
To meet the AAA-grade carbon credits quality requirements of the international carbon market, WMO (Beijing) CTX will develop an installation plan for the AMS(Automated Monitoring System) and provide clients with a selection of three qualified suppliers. The equipment procurement and installation (approximately 3 to 6 months) will incur corresponding costs; however, the high-quality carbon credits data generated by the system will support higher prices.
At the same time, to complete the project’s formal registration, WMO (Beijing) CTX will assist the client in obtaining project certification and registration with the nationally designated DOE registration agency. The official administrative fees incurred during this process will be disclosed in a transparent manner.
Phase 4: Project Verification, Validation, Issuance, and following Services, Related Service Fees
WMO (Beijing) CTX will prepare an assessment report based on data collected by the AMS to conduct a professional verification of the project’s emission reduction performance. This work constitutes our core technical service, and we must ensure the accuracy of every data to effectively safeguard clients’ interests.
Subsequently, we will prepare a verification report, provide recommendations for improvement, and submit the final emissions reduction data for the carbon credits project to the international certification body, initiating a 45-day international public notice period.
Once the project is officially registered with the international certification body, we will assist you in paying the necessary issuance fees and obtaining international carbon certificates issued by the official international authority.
Finally, WMO (Beijing) CTX will provide one year of follow-up services for the project to ensure that the data remains accurate and reliable throughout the validity period of the carbon certificates. Thirty days before the expiration date, we will promptly remind the client to initiate the relevant procedures for the next cycle.
Special Note: WMO (Beijing) CTX’s Billing Timing and Principles
WMO (Beijing) CTX will not collect any “service fees” in advance when information regarding a project is still insufficient during its early stages.
WMO (Beijing) CTX’s service fees will be collected only after “the carbon credits project has obtained verifiable emission reduction data and successfully completed issuance.” Until a project has demonstrated clear carbon emission reduction data and meets the conditions for successful issuance, We will only collect necessary third-party costs on behalf of the client (such as staff travel, sample testing, official administrative fees, and equipment procurement), and all such costs are paid directly by the client to the third parties.
The carbon credits industry in China is steadily gaining momentum. Compared to the relatively mature international carbon credits market, WMO (Beijing) CTX consistently upholds professionalism and integrity, and is committed to long-term, stable, and cooperative development.
